About Buxton Fungi
Buxton Fungi began with a simple idea: that fresh, local food should be grown with care and shared with community. What started as a small-scale mushroom project has quickly evolved into a passionate mission to provide gourmet mushrooms grown right here in the Peak District. We’re a proudly independent micro-farm with humble beginnings, guided by hands-on experimentation, sustainability, and a love for the natural world.
We’re currently setting up our farm in Peak Dale, just outside Buxton, where cool, clean air and peaceful surroundings create ideal conditions for cultivating vibrant, flavourful mushrooms. While we might not have a physical shop (yet!), you’ll find us at local markets and online—sharing our harvest with nearby households, chefs, and anyone who appreciates fresh, thoughtfully-grown produce.
At the heart of Buxton Fungi is a community-first approach. We believe in building lasting relationships with our customers, supporting local food networks, and keeping things transparent and approachable. From offering tasting samples at markets to growing to order for loyal subscribers, we’re here to make high-quality mushrooms more accessible—and more enjoyable—for everyone.
